Stephen Smith, AFBPsS, CPsychol, CSci, BSc (Hons)

Stephen is the lead neuroscientist at SPL. He is one of only 6 psychologists in the UK who have ever qualified  dual registered as both a business and a sport psychologist.

He has over 35 years global experience in both fields.

In sport he has worked with the very best in elite sporting talent in both teams and individual sports. He is leading on the application of business psychology into the psychology of the sports experience in both equipment and venues- see PSYenz.

He is currently delivering global research into the transition of elite athletes into the corporate world.

In business he started his career with Saville and Holdsworth before moving into human factors consulting having been the Chief Psychologist at a global oil and gas giant. He specialises in the assessment and development of board executives. He currently delivers the psychological assessment and vetting for all Chief Constables reporting into the Home Secretary.

He is a member of the 'College of Experts'. This is a select group of independent scientific advisors to the UK government. Stephen is assigned to the Department of Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS).
